** This is a rough draft guide, meaning I've done the research and recommend all these spots but haven't fleshed out the details or explanations. Get it now, because the price will go up when I polish it up! **
Cologne (Köln in German) is a great little city to explore on foot! Everything is walkable, although it may be 30 minutes from the riverfront to the furthest point I've included here. There's also a metro if you'd rather catch a ride!

Major Sights
Cologne Cathedral
@wheresemmanow
In the Cathedral City, you have to stop in the cathedral! Most famous for being the final resting place of the three magi. It's full of highly decorated tombs. Entry is free.

Hahnen Gate
@wheresemmanow
One of the gates of the ancient city walls, now a cool landmark. One of my favorite Christmas markets sits under it every December!

Mustard Museum & Mustard Shop
@wheresemmanow
Cute little mustard shop and museum! It's right across from the Chocolate Museum, and is totally worth sticking your head in. They'll happily let you sample every single kind, and it's a fun unusual souvenir to take home! (You don't have to refrigerate it, meaning it'll travel well.)

The Basilica of St. Ursula
@wheresemmanow
The church itself isn't that unusual, but find a staff member and pay a euro to see the ossuary! The walls are decorated with bones, said to be those of St. Ursula and her virgin followers killed by the Huns.

Cologne Chocolate Museum
@wheresemmanow
The Chocolate Museum covers the growing of cacao and making of chocolate - it's pretty informative if you're interested! If you just want to eat it, you can also skip the museum and head straight for the cafe.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Emma | Where's Emma Now
Amateur Italian, travel advisor, and adventurous eater!
I’m a travel creative living in small town northern Italy, and I've been planning travel for over 15 years. I've lived on three continents and visited over 40 countries, so I'm passionate about helping travelers experience the best of a location, no matter where!
I love both/and travel: I want to see the big sights AND the local hangouts, the big cities AND the small towns. I’d love to help you do it too!
If you’re going to Rome for the first time, you don’t need me to tell you to see the Colosseum. But you might want me to tell you if it’s better as a guided tour or on your own, what add-on’s are worth the money, and what are the extra secret things your ticket can get you!
My favorite part of travel is eating well: finding the local haunts, tasting a new wine, and trying the local dishes. Amazing food doesn't have to be expensive: sometimes the best of a place is in the street food! But if it is a splurge, I'll make sure it's worth every penny.
I'd love to work with you to create the trip of your dreams!
