Just a short bus or train ride away from Tokyo, near Sendai, lies an incredible and picturesque viewing spot for cherry blossoms. The usually full bloom starts in the first week of April, providing ample opportunity for Hanami, the traditional cherry blossom viewing. The White River, set against a backdrop of beautiful snowy mountains, offers the perfect setting to witness this natural spectacle. Start your journey at the Funakoshi Station and walk or cycle along the river, ending at Ogawara Station. Take your time to savor the experience, enjoy some delicious Japanese food, and even try Hanami sake.
