4 Day Itinerary to 
SNOWDONIA

First on the agenda is Conwy Castle – Park @ Morfa Bach Car Park.

Start the day early by driving or getting public transport to your starting point – we suggest heading towards the North of Wales to Conwy.

For £11.70 per adult, this may seem a bit steep, but this will be the most expensive attraction of the stay and it is pretty impressive. While exploring the castle you can take in the stunning surrounding views including the Conwy Suspension Bridge  and the harbour. 

as well as Plas Mawr  - a 16th-century Elizabethan townhouse. Do note that between November and February, Plas Mawr is closed and costs £8.70 per adult to enter.

From here take a short walk into the town for a snack and to visit The Smallest House in Great Britain 

In an attempt to save money, we suggest booking an Airbnb with a kitchen for you to cook your own meals. So, once you have finished in Conwy you head to the closest supermarket before heading to your accommodation. 

Once at your Airbnb, unload the shopping, unpack your bags, have some homemade dinner and a cosy night in.

Using your groceries brought the day before, you cook up a full English breakfast, prepare a few sandwiches and head out to Llanberis .

Llanberis  is a small village known most for its easy access to the foot of Mount Snowdon but today the plan is to venture to some of its less-known attractions. 

Start at Dobardarn Castle - Park @ Dobardarn Castle  Car Park.

Then move onto Anglesey Barracks , the perfect place to sit and have your packed sandwiches. 

And finally end the day at Ceunant Mawr Waterfall  .

Today is the day. The big day. You will attempt to summit Mount Snowdon or more appropriately Yr Wyddfa via the Llanberis Path - Park @ Dobardarn Castle  Car Park.

Yr Wyddfa is the highest mountain in Wales with an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level. The hike can take approximately 4-7 hours depending on the weather, your fitness level and the route you choose to climb. All six routes are difficult and so for two unqualified hikers, we decided on the Llanberis Path as it is considered the easiest of them all. Although this path is classified as the easiest it still does not take away the fact that it is bloody hard. 

Unfortunately for us, the weather progressively deteriorated throughout the hike. Saying that what did we expect going in October? Luckily, we were quite covered up, but we didn’t expect the hailstones and intense winds.

The hike itself is gruelling, tough and demanding, but the views along the way are incredible. Every changing landscape brings new and spectacular scenery which makes the whole experience worth it.

As this route is considered the easiest, it is also the most popular, so just know, you won’t be alone on this path. Even though we attempted this in autumn, which is considered the low season, the route was packed with people going up and down, ALL DAY!

After a long but gratifying day, treat yourself to a meal out at Tir A Môr for an extremely British dinner of fish and chips, and a warm shower to end the day.

Wake up early for breakfast, a punctual check out of your Airbnb and one last stop before returning home. With that, you head to Betws-y-Coed.

Heading to Gwydir Forest Park – Park @ Gwydir Forest Car Park for a couple of hours 

and while you are close walk a short 5–10-minute to Rhhaedr Ewynnoi (Swallow Falls Waterfall). Entry costs £2.

We have ordered them from lowest to highest price with four out of the five located in the area of Bethesda and the fifth located in Llanberis. 

These places have been selected due to good value for money, location, fit for destination and overall ratings. 

The budget for these accommodations ranges from £49 to £90 - a budget we personally would be happy to pay, but you can most definitely go under or over this.
