Solo Travel for rookies
Take the leap!
The first thing you need to know about solo travel is there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’.
Maybe you want to start small… have you ever wined and dined yourself?
Take yourself out on a local date, go out to a restaurant by yourself in your neighborhood, or that one spot you saved on yelp and haven’t gone to because you haven’t found anyone to go with.. you know what I’m talking about. If that sounds crazy to you, then definitely start there. Like anything new and different… do it scared, but at least take the first step.
Where do you want to go for your first adventure?
You may have already hung out by yourself close to home, but you’re not ready to buy the plane ticket just yet. Especially if you are not sure where you want to go.
Do a little research.
You KNOW you’ve hit that save button on someone’s reel galavanting through a country in Europe or have secret Pinterest travel board.
Aren’t you tired of the group trip you’ve been planning never leaving the chat? Or maybe your partner can’t get the same time off as you…
So you just don’t go.
”To get comfortable being with yourself, you first have to get uncomfortable by yourself ”
You know who said that? Me. 💁🏻♀️
”Okay so? Who are you?”
Hi 👋🏼 I’m Andreina.
I’m someone who always felt there was ‘more’ out there. Even as a kid. My head was always buried in a book. No, not the textbooks.
Novels and fiction books. Made up stories of grand adventures taken by made up people.
The more I read, the more I realized…. The characters might be made up, but the places they mentioned are very real.
So before social media… I checked out some travel guides from the library. (Did I just age myself? 🫠)
Don’t worry you don’t have to do that. You have the gift of Thatch. 😏
If you’ve read this far…
Thank you!
Hit that follow
Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, France, Colombia, and ya girl’s favorite: Italy. (Just to name a few 😉)
AND you may even want to hear the story of how a confident explorer completely broke down (I’m talking eyes puffy, hyperventilating, everyone staring at you type of breakdown) at LGW on her first transatlantic solo trip…
But guess what?
She LIVED
… and the rest of the trip was truly A Poetic Experience.
