The Ultimate 7-Day London Guide!
Brief Overview:
I flew out of Austin, TX on a direct flight to London on Wednesday night and arrived on Thursday morning so my itinerary will start on Thursday. Each day is curated to what is open and available on that day so if you don't start your trip on Thursday follow the day of the week when you start your trip! Additionally, I stayed with a friend living in London located in Clapham (Southwest area of the city), so I do not have personal recommendations on accommodations; however, staying close to the sites can be a benefit as transit does take a long time. Lastly, my trip itself looked a bit different to this itinerary because I was coordinating with my friend; however, after my experiences, this is what I recommend. You could follow this guide to the tee and have a great experience or swap things out for what fits your schedule, but remember I have scheduled things each day based on when they are open so be sure to double check opening times!
Tips and Tricks:
1. Public transit is very common and easy to use; however it can take a while. Depending on the distance I would allocate anywhere from 30-60 minutes for public transport when thinking about your trip. Additionally, I purchase a 7-day travel pass for zones 1-2 for 53 pounds. It is approximately the same price as the daily max for seven days; however, I didn't want continuous foreign transaction fees and this card was much easier to manage.
2. The weather can change suddenly and go from cloudy rainy to warm and sunny within a day. Definitely bring layers!
3. This is definitely a walking city so bring comfy shoes!
4. Many restaurants are friendly for different dietary restrictions and allergies and can be extremely accommodating. If you are worried about your diet or allergies, put those worries aside as London is a great place to accommodate you.
