EAT

Salt Restaurant Bar
@schuylerbailey
One of those rare restaurants that get everything right, Salt is a light-filled, breezy outdoor space under a canopy of whitewashed bamboo overlooking the beach. Service is friendly and prompt, the dishes – from fish tartare and shrimp-and-leek risotto to slow-roasted spare ribs and salted caramel banoffee – are spot on, and it's wallet-friendly to boot.

Allo Bar - Tapas
@schuylerbailey
It has excellent reviews, and it is known for serving a varied selection of regional cuisines, including French, Spanish, and, of course, Greek staple dishes.

Hellenic Social Ios
@schuylerbailey
On any given morning, this place is filled mostly with visitors to Ios, some slumped over their poached eggs, others perkily downing filled bagels, green smoothies and blended juices. Hellenic Social is very hipster, very now, with organic kombucha and dishes involving chia seeds and smashed avo. Evening events and parties frequently break out. It's off the main road.

Harmony Ios
@schuylerbailey
Harmony wears many hats and we like all of them. It's a mellow spot for pancakes, coffee and avo on toast in the morning, a place to laze about in a hammock or on giant cushions while nursing a frozen margarita at sunset, or an al fresco dinner venue for consuming nachos, tacos and quesadillas, accompanied by decent live music.

Mozaik (Mediterranean comfort food)
@schuylerbailey
This vegan-friendly hotel also serves Mediterranean and fish-based cuisine and informal dishes, including the popular Greek souvlaki.
