Milos Moments!
Milos Island
Part of the Cycladic Islands, Milos is situated in the Aegean Sea. The famous Venus de Milo statue which can now be found in the Louvre Museum in Paris was found here. It is an incredible place to hire a car and explore with each corner offering a new experience.
Getting There…
You can fly or ferry to Milos from Athens.. Ferry leaves from Piraeus Port and can take up to 3.5 Hours and costs around €80. To fly just be prepared that it will be a propeller plane and takes approx 45 mins. You can search and book ferries below. Flights are usually operated by Olympic Air or Aegean Airlines.
Getting Around…
Definitely hire a car. You can book via discover cars (link below) to be safe… it’s like a sky scanner for cars and you will need a physical copy of your license or a government approved e-license.
Hire a Boat…
I highly suggest doing a boat tour! It will take you to parts of the island that you can’t access otherwise. There are a variety of tours on offer and they can cater for full day or half day tours! Contact Bloomarine Milos Boat Hire via the link below!
Where to Stay…
POLLONIA
Pollonia is a quieter part of the island. There are beautiful restaurants and a nice little beach to enjoy. I suggest comparing Airbnb against booking.com as there are some beautiful Villas at a reasonable price available.
The below hotel is also really beautiful and service is excellent. They can arrange transfers from the airport, car hire and more.
EAT at Pollonia
There are lots of restaurants right beside the Port.. some suggestions can be found below…

PALIOCHORI
Here you will find the famous Beachside Volcanic Restaurant “Sirocco” which specializes in slow cooking some of their dishes in volcanic pots in the ground. There is also sun beds available at approximately €15 p.p. and Shisha on the beach if you’re into that sort of thing.
ADAMAS
Adamas is a Port Town and the easiest accessible if you ferry to Milos. It can be extremely busy despite resembling a fishing village… but there are some great places to eat…
EAT at ADAMAS
PLAKA (Sunset Hill)
Plaka is known as the island’s capital and is full of layered laneways full of shops and restaurants - this is also the place to go to see the beautiful sunset at Plaka Castle.
EAT at PLAKA
KLIMA
Klima is a small fishing village which is a bit of a photographer’s hot spot. There are houses along the water that have different coloured accents which makes for some really cool photos. This is the only reason you would go - don’t eat here as the restaurant is only OK! Please be careful walking along the marina as it is slippery and also the waves sometimes crash onto the shore…..
SARAKINIKO
This beach is the famous Moon Beach and another photo hot spot. The water can sometimes be rough but there is a little cove which is always calm. The formation of the volcanic pumice is nothing like anywhere else I’ve seen. I suggest you go early as it can get very crowed.. no toilets or restaurants here.. just a little snack food van.
FIROPOTAMOS BEACH
The water is super clear here and people seem to love going. It’s not my favorite beach but everyone loves it. There are no facilities or eateries so maybe pack a lunch on this day if you visit. This is where you will also find this famous mural…
This is one of the most beautiful parts of this island… there are cool little pockets for photos and the best place to eat is at the famous Medusa restaurant. You usually have to line up and they take your name down… then they encourage you to go for a walk down to the hanging Octopi… the food is amazing!!!!
