Rooftops

You can never go wrong with a rooftop in Medellin. The views are epic. Think high-rise buildings in the middle of the jungle.

Our favorite rooftop for sunset! It's located on top of the Masaya Hotel. Come here for a few drinks before a night out, and enjoy the view. It's also a good place to network with young professionals and locals alike.

Envy Rooftop
@EnjoyTheVoyage
Upscale poolside rooftop with incredible views overlooking Medellín. The rooftop is equally as beautiful day or night. We suggest trying a cocktail with some and enjoy the live DJ while admiring the incredible view!! * The rooftop hosts a brunch party once a month, if you're in town for it, IT'S A MUST!

Panorama Rooftop bar

Instagramable mixology bar with trendy drinks. We loved everything about this spot. It's a beautiful bar with a chill vibe and an amazing cocktail selection. There is no view, but you won't miss it.

Bars

Bars in Medellin are usually very casual. However, casual doesn't always mean low-key. You can start off your night at any of these bars and just as equally party all night at them too.

MAD RADIO
@EnjoyTheVoyage
A trendy space for real music lovers. The vibe is energetic yet down to earth. It's a space where music, creativity, and expression rule. Grab a drink and sit outside, people watch as you vibe to the live DJ.

Siete Pulgadas Listening Bar
@EnjoyTheVoyage
You probably would never find this one on your own. Some local friends introduced us to this bar and we're so happy that they did! It's a very small bar giving speakeasy vibes. The space itself is super quaint with DJs who play records that can also be bought on-site. It does get crowded especially on the weekend. We would recommend you visit for a few evening drinks and sit upstairs or on the terrace. *TIP: You know you found the bar if you see a sign that says small bar.

La Casa De Ruby
@EnjoyTheVoyage
The sexiest speakeasy in Medellin! This spot is a must! We won't give too much away but know you've found if you're at an ice cream shop. *Make a reservation

Z Bar
@EnjoyTheVoyage
Start or end your night at this low-key Jazz bar located in the marquee hotel. The venue is small therefore a reservation is recommended. They have a wonderful cocktail and wine list!

Nightclubs

Nightclubs in Medellin tend to get pretty wild. Unlike many other cities, there usually isn't a dress code, and drinks are quite affordable. It's common to pay a cover at the door, usually not more than $5- $10

Sonorama
@EnjoyTheVoyage
"We love this techno venue in Medellin! It has a friendly atmosphere where locals and tourists alike come to enjoy the music without any pretentiousness. The sound system is the highlight of this place. If you want to avoid the crowd, head to the second floor. The cover charge ranges from 40K to 60K ($10-$15), depending on the night."

Salón Amador
@EnjoyTheVoyage
When in Medellin, visiting Salon Amador is a must. It is a popular venue where you can enjoy top Techno artists performing in a warehouse-like atmosphere. However, it is worth noting that Salon Amador tends to attract more tourists than locals due to the high cover charge, which can range from 60K to 90K ($15-$23) depending on the artist. *TIP: Arrive early to avoid lines.

Cromatic Club & Bar
@EnjoyTheVoyage
One of our favorite Reggeaton spots! Come prepared to dance the night away. This venue is mostly visited by locals, however a few tourists do find this gem. Grab a hookah and enjoy an epic night.

Perro Negro Club
@EnjoyTheVoyage
There's a reason Bad Bunny wrote a song about this club. It's the BEST Reggeaton venue in Medellin. It is almost impossible to get inside unless you're with a local or you speak Spanish, but its worth trying. Our recommendation is to make friends with some locals and ask them to help you get in. Don't expect a big club, its a tiny venue, but the vibes completely make up for it.

La Oculta
@EnjoyTheVoyage
A Reggeaton bar located behind a bookshelf! This is a great bar to start off your night, or indulge at all night! Its not pretentious and the drinks are priced very well priced.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hiya!! We are Denise and Marco, a full-time travel/ life abroad married couple with a deep passion for immersing ourselves in new cultures and embracing unique experiences around the world. 🙌 We have been living a life abroad for over 8 years! 🎇As we continue to explore and learn from our travels, we have decided to share our experiences and offer personalized travel itineraries and guidance. We believe that every traveler is unique, with individual preferences and interests. We aim to curate tailor-made experiences that focus on local activities and bypass mass tourism. ✨More about us✨ Our love for travel began when we first met, and since then, it has become an integral part of our lives. In 2016, we made a life-changing decision to leave the comfort of the United States and settle in the vibrant city of London. It was here that we truly began to experience travel in its purest form. London became our launchpad, igniting our passion for discovering the world and teaching us the importance of immersing ourselves in local experiences. In 2021, we decided to take our travel adventures to the next level. We left behind our settled life in the UK and embraced a nomadic lifestyle, traveling and living abroad permanently. This decision allowed us to break free from societal norms, redefine our boundaries, and truly become citizens of the world. Our experiences taught us that by embracing diversity, we enrich our own lives and develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the world around us. We recently adopted our fur baby while living in Colombia, and he has joined us on our nomadic adventures! We're excited to guide you on your next adventure 🙌
