Madrid has a special place in my heart and I love visiting Madrid every couple of months. I of course have some favorites there, from food to bars, let's dive in.

Madrid Restaurants, Cafes and Bars - The Ultimate Guide You Need

This looks more like a lab than a restaurant. Sala de Despiece got so popular that they opened another one in the city. You have to go early and queue to get in, and get ready for an amazing (and interesting) dining experience!

The first ever restaurant I went in Madrid in 2012 and since then, my favourite has not changed. Try the Alella, Benissalem, the oxtail and the calamari. It is a very casual place and they take reservations. Try some amazing wine too!

Very local, very Spaniish, very casual, very tasty. The pasta with truffle is delicious. Make sure you make a reservation before you go!

This is an upscale restaurant with high prices and it is the "place to be seen". The food is delicious and the risotto is probably one of the best risotto I have ever tasted. Make sure you reserve a table and dress nicely.

Another upscale restaurant which is very popular in Madrid. The cuisine is a fusion of Asian, Brazilian and Mediterranean. They also have a very cool jazz bar downstairs. 

To be honest I didn't go to the one in Madrid but I love the one in Lisbon and Porto and Barcelona so it must be good too!

This is another classic, their croissants are always fresh, my all time favourite is the scrambled egges with mushrooms, avocado and ricotta. And a french toast to share!

Good coffee and good pastries. They have brunch options too!

This must be Madrid's oldest and most popular third wave coffee shop. They have a few in town.

They make their own gins and you can find literally gins with every possible taste you can imagine. I love the lavender one! It gets super busy on the weekends but it's a good place to meet people!

They have an incredible selection of natural wines and exciting plates which change every 15 days.

The food here is delicious and the prices are incredible when you think aboout the quality/price. It's the perfect place to go with friends when you don't know where to eat. They have tapas portions and big portions of almost all the food they have on the menu so it's perfect for sharing and tasting!

Traditional Spanish tapas in a traditional setting. Again, a perfect place to go with friends and try different plates.

This place sometimes has live music, even on a random day during the week, and the cocktails are great. Perfect place to pop in for a drink before going out to a club!

We went for a jam session and the live music was great! It is also an amazing place to meet other people and do a critique of the musicians on the stage!

Coffee and brunch - perfect option for a friend date!

This apparently used to be an adult movies cinema. We went on a sunday afternoon and there was an amazing live music! 

Madrid came a bit late into the brunch game but seems like they are catching up nowadays. This became my new favorite brunch place and it's in La Latina so you can check the second hand market after brunch, if it is a sunday!

And here we have a club recommendation too. Madrid's night life is actually quite famous, I haven't had that much experience myself but this was very fun!

An amazing cocktail bar with a lot of incense smell!

Another bar recommendation and this bar's interiors is a bit psychedelic cause you will see the same cat print everywhere. The music and the cocktails are good!

I absolutely loved this place because they were only playing afro house / afro beats and some other commercials but in nice remixes. The queue to get in was insanely long however it was worth it! If you have a late dinner in the restaurant, it may be easier to get in to the club section.

Madrid's brunch vibe is way more simpler. Think Copenhag style, northern eueropean style. It's like exactly the opposite of Brunch & Cake craze in Barcelona, and Hermanas Arce is a super good example. Be careful though, they are not open on the weekends! (yes, I know!)

This is right next to Ficus, and as popular as Ficus. It is a super cool speakeasy bar, and when I say speakeasy, like you need a secret passcode to get in. You can find a hint on their website. They don't take reservations.

Such a fun place! This is a bar where you find yourself singing all together with strangers at 2am. There is a piano in the middle, a man who plays songs that everyone knows and sings and let's people take the microphone for them to sing too. Although they are quite serious with this, because they don't want it to turn into a karaoke, so make sure you know the song you're going to sing by heart (can't look at lyrics) and then ask him if you can sing!

You can't go to Madrid and not have Churros! I personally think that they are overrated but some people love them! I love them when they are filled with chocolate or dulce de leche!

This is the most famous churros place in Madrid. Again, I do think that it's overrated but I can't write a Madrid guide without mentioning this place.

I loveeee a good ice cream though and I think this is the place to try!

If you are an açai lover like me and you can't find it in your country (like me), this place makes really good açai bowls! Yumm, love to have it on a hot summer day!

Funky cool bar to go and dance a bit, it's not too big and I feel like it's a good place to meet people. Very close to Barbara Ann.
