You've landed in Victoria, but you don't have a lot of time. Here are the food & beverage spots I encourage you to prioritize.

Start here for food, drink and more tips

Wind Cries Mary
@stevemiller
Wind Cries Mary won't be the easiest name to remember, unless you're familiar with Jimi Hendrix songs by name. Sit at the bar. Enjoy their eclectic craft cocktails and delicious bites. Before you leave, ask what other places they would recommend. They're open to sharing their favorite haunts--so much so that they have special cards printed and ready for scribbling their suggestions.

Victoria Harbour Ferry
@stevemiller
As soon as you get into the waterfront area, you're going to notice the cute, little water taxis putting around the harbour. Those can take you point-to-point, but if you book a 45-minute tour at the main kiosk (close to the seaplane airport) you'll get your bearings and a bit of history of the region. There's a chance you can catch the arrival of a seaplane, cruise ship or ferry, and even spot some wildlife!

Start the day off right

Hey Happy
@stevemiller
If you need caffeine to start your day, be sure to head to the hip, modern coffee shop.

Jam Cafe
@stevemiller
Sit inside to avoid the bacon-eating hornets that buzz freely on the patio. Their hash browns are shredded, buttery and delicious.

Non-negotiable, can't miss

Red Fish Blue Fish
@stevemiller
This fish 'n' chips stalwart will make your trip--and could justify a future ferry ride or seaplane flight just to return for a meal here. Absolutely try the salad if you have someone to share that with--you will leave happy and feeling healthy, even after eating fried fish.

If you need quick options

Victoria Public Market at the Hudson
@stevemiller
Several food stalls to choose from here—what do you fancy? Pizza, hand pies, Indian? I opted for a bowl from Roast, and the porchetta hit the spot!

Bold Butchery & Grill
@stevemiller
Unassuming spot that makes delicious, and healthy-ish hummus and schwarma bowls.

Shuck Taylor's
@stevemiller
We did not have time to eat here, but the menu looks straightforward, and this looks like the place of the mission is oysters.

Seafood tower--that is all

Boom + Batten Restaurant & Cafe
@stevemiller
Take in views of seaplanes, yachts, and pedestrians from this marina restaurant. They have a happy hour, but be sure to stick around for dinner to take advantage of a packed seafood tower with oysters, crab and more!

Marilena Cafe & Raw Bar
@stevemiller
This came highly recommended AFTER we had our seafood tower at Boom + Batten. Next time, next time.

Dinner is in good hands

Rudi
@stevemiller
This establishment is a sibling of Wind Cries Mary. Interesting cocktails and fun atmosphere. Sharing is encouraged.
