Where should I take people to see live music? They have live music almost every night. Where should I go watch the game? Rustic Tap (notoriously an LSU + Saints bar) always has the live action rolling. 10/10 recommend, a must stop if from out of town to get a good Texas experience.
Pickle ball courts, sports streaming inside and outside, fire pits and more. I love this place - great BBQ from CM smokehouse too (see BBQ board).
Primetime rooftop happy hour scene downtown. Pool tables, bags, tacos, etc.
The east side’s finest. Live music, huge outdoor space.

Locals finest. 365 Christmas piano bar on the west side.
Johnny Cash themed dive bar - hit before or after Donn’s.
Be prepared for the world of bachelor and bachelorette parties. Head here and there are loads of old houses turned bars in surrounding area (well there are a few… f-ing skyscrapers have nearly KO’ed this once magical street). Great for sunny days, especially Sunday’s. This bar has remained a little less “bachy” and still fun.
Really the only bar bar on South Congress. Live music in the back!
20 minutes south of downtown but man is it worth it. One might call it a Mecca. Live music, awesome eats and loads of sports. O, and axe throwing.

Opposite of your late night specialist but truly an absolute favorite of mine. Excellent food trucks (see bbq board) and better vibes. Big day drinking/ HH spot.
Upstairs mezcal bar, that is what I’ll say about that.
Perfect spot on west 6th after ~11pm. Grab the espresso tini and thank me later.
