Cashmere Roadtrip | 10 Shops to Visit in Umbria, ITALY
Ashley Bartner
The coveted "Cashmere Road" in Umbria is dotted with amazing shops (and many times this is the factory where the sweaters, etc. are being made as well) between Torgiano & Solomeo, here are a few of my favorites where you can find great deals. If you want to spend big bucks head straight to the crown jewel, Brunello Cucinelli in Solomeo! However I recommend visiting them last - the village itself Brunello Cucinelli restored and is worth a stroll about, to see the different parts of the cashmere making process (it's like a living museum) not to mention the views are spectacular.
Remember this is Italy, many places close for a lunch break so be sure to plan your route accordingly. We had breakfast in Torgiano and hit the road with IMA Cashmere as our first stop and finished at Brunello Cucinelli just before lunch (with a total of 5 stops), but it all depends on how long you stay at each shop for how many you can fit in.
Happy cashmere shopping!!

Think cardigans in every color and loads of beautiful but inexpensive scarves for Christmas gifts!

Classics & staples for Men & Women. This is where I buy all my cardigans and Christmas gifts of cashmere scarves! Excellent prices.
They have a great sale selection perfect for gifts and ask to see what;s behind the door in their little shop and you will enter the factory where all the work is being done!

My favorite shops for crew neck light sweaters to wear everyday:
The weekend wardrobe.
Della Ciana Outlet
@ashleybartner
Since 1978, Della Ciana has been making knitwear, using the noblest fibers, for a clientele that is attentive to design and quality.
One of my favorites! I have a few crew neck light sweaters from here and where them all year long! They hold up to heavy wear and washing and have never lost that soft cashmere feel. Outlet pricing. Both Men's & Women's designs.
