Norway Road Trip: A 10 day Itinerary
Flight details in this guide are based on UK airports/ airlines but if you are not UK based there is still useful information here of what to do when you reach the airports in Norway.
Fly direct from the UK into either Oslo or Torp airport, please see further details below:
How to get from OSL Airport into Oslo city centre
The easiest and fastest way to get from OSL Airport is the Flytoget airport express train which leaves every 10-20 minutes and is a 20 minute journey costing 230 NOK

Alternative flight option- fly into Torp Airport
An alternative option is to fly into Torp Airport, some budget airlines fly into torp at very low fares so this could be an option for you if you are on a budget.
How to get from TRF Airport into Oslo city centre
Torp airport is around 1 hour 30 minutes’ journey from Oslo city centre however if you did decide to go with this option, you can easily get into Oslo via train or bus from Torp airport with both trains and buses running every hour and priced around 300 NOK

Fly from Oslo to Tromso
Car Hire
Hire a car to pick up from Tromso Airport when you arrive and drop off at Evenes Airport on the day you depart (if you follow this itinerary you will be flying back from Evenes)
Hiring a car is the best way to be able to easily get between Tromso, Senja and the Lofoton Islands and all the recommended accommodation options below have car parking facilities (some free and some charged)
Second Stop: Spend 3 nights in Tromso
I’d recommend staying at least 3 nights in Tromso to give you time to see it all especially if you’re hoping to see the Northern lights.

Drive from Tromso to Senja
Driving time is approx. 2-3 hours via roads E8 and E6

Fly back to the UK from Evenes via Oslo
Getting to Evenes Aiport
Evenes Harstad/ Narvik Airport is around 2.5 hours’ drive from Svolvaer, but it is the easiest airport to fly back from meaning you only have to do 1 change over in Oslo.
