Backpacking in the Western Uplands - Algonquin, Canada, Ontario
My First time in the Western Uplands
The first time I visited Western Uplands of Algonquin, was with a friend in October. The trees were extremely colorful and looked like a sea of candy. We parked our car at the Rain Lake Access Point and hiked 20KM hike into a Backcountry campsite right on Pincher Lake. We stayed 1 night and the next day we retraced our steps back to our car. It was a very difficult journey, and I recommend staying at least 2 nights in the Western Uplands. You can watch the video below to get an impression of our 40KM hike and terrain. This guide does not cover the 40 KM route I hiked, and instead is meant to give you an impression of the what the terrain and scenery looks like.
