Pre-Show Dinner & Kennedy Center Events

But first, we eat!

Kingbird
@gracesimmons
Before heading to the show at the Kennedy Center, begin with the pre-show dinner menu at Kingbird, located in the Watergate Hotel.

Having dinner at Kingbird is an absolute treat! If you are attending a show, be sure to ask for the pre-show menu for $75: a three course production of delicious food. For drinks, I suggest the NW, which is a robust cocoa-infused bourbon cocktail. There are a few other equally as interesting choices, however, bourbon is a to-go. While waiting on my appetizer, I was presented with  three different types of warm, soft bread -all were so appetizing but if I continued to eat them, there would be little space for my upcoming three meals. My appetizer was the chilled pea soup, the entrée was veal blanquette, and the dessert was mango mousse cake with salted caramel, lavender ice cream and crunch streusel.

The Kennedy Center is right next door, so make sure to inform your waiter and they will show you the short cut.

At the end of your adventure-filled day, you can rest at the elegant Melrose Georgetown Hotel. This hotel is classic DC and yet clean and peace.  You can leave all of the noise and chaos behind and settle in to an unexplainable comfortable bed. In the morning, all that DC has to offer is right there at your doorsteps once you leave the hotel.  There are many options for food, transportation, and touristy activities to keep you busy for the remainder of your visit.
