Indonesia was a place that had been on my bucket-list for years, so it really felt like a dream come true when I booked my flights. But there is SO much information online and it was a little overwhelming trying to pack everything in - in just two weeks! Here is what I ultimately ended up planning, and honestly, it was the perfect "first time" trip. planning on going back one day to explore even more!

Day 1-3: UBUD

Ubud, although slightly touristiy, provides a central location on Bali so that you can explore! Spend your days exploring the tropical forests, temples, and waterfalls in the area.

Where to stay:

We stayed at a small set of lodges called Mertasari Bungalows. This was very basic accommodations, but suited us for the days that we were there - although now they have added a pool! The owner was extremely kind and made sure that we had everything we needed! Nusa Penida has gone through some heavy expansion when it comes to tourist accommodations, so there may be much more available now since my visit in early 2019.

Day 10-12 GILI TRAWANGAN

This small island is a haven for scuba divers! If you aren't into scuba, try snorkeling or stand-up paddle boarding with friendly turtles that hang out closes to the shore!

Where to stay:

We stayed at Guava Garden, which might have been my favourite place we stayed on this trip! These small lodges had outdoor patios, and open roof bathrooms! It was so unique to be able to use the outdoor shower and see the stars!

Day 13-14 CANGGU or ULUWATU

Spend your last couple days back on Bali, as you will be departing home from there. You have the option of staying in a different area as before, as this island is quite large. Canggu is definitely more geared to tourists, with trendy cafes, markets, and beach clubs, with absolutely beautiful beaches! We stayed in Canggu, but if this doesn't sound like your style, then consider Uluwatu as another option, as it has a more laid back vibe.

Where to stay:

We stayed at Sedasa Lodge, which was absolutely incredible. The lobby area has the most gorgeous greenery coming down into a pond. The rooms were also quite sizable! It was very well located as well, as it was walking distance to many restaurants, and the beach!
