Japan LGBTQIA+ Bars & Gay Pride in Sapporo and Otaru
If you're planning to explore Sapporo and Otoro in Japan, and you're part of the LGBTQI+ community, then this guide is for you! In this video, we'll show you how to find some of the best LGBTQI+ bars in the area. Please note that we won't be showing the venues from the inside to respect the privacy of the space and its patrons.
You can find more information on all Google Map pins in the description. So, without further ado, let's get started!
Drag Queen Show, Sapporo
Building of LGBTQI+ Bars, Sapporo
In the city center of Sapporo, you'll find the Number Six Building on Google Maps. Most of the gay bars are located on the fourth and fifth floors. Take the elevator up, and you'll find plenty of bars along the corridor. Most bars have cover charges, so bar hopping can get pricey.
One of the recommended bars is Synchronicity, where the writer spent New Year's Eve. They have two lesbian bars within walking distance from each other.
One is called Bar Lego, and you can find the entrance at the corner. Please note that the GPS on maps is not right. Take the elevator up to the fourth floor, and you'll get a warm welcome.
The second lesbian venue is Bar Or, and you'll find the entrance on the Main Street. Take the elevator up to the fourth floor, and find the rainbow door. Saturday is women's night, but everyone is welcome any other night.
Otaru
Even in Otaru, you'll find a gay bar. Look out for the many rainbow flags outside the venue.
Sapporo Rainbow Pride
The Sapporo Rainbow Pride is held every September. You can find all the details on their website, which the writer used a translation plugin to read. They even have a YouTube channel!
