As a Miami native who no longer lives in her natural habitat, my favorite part of visiting home now is being able to explore all the fancy hotels in the area.
Also, if you're saying to yourself, "I don't want a fancy hotel why can't I just book an Airbnb?"
Unfortunately, hotels and Airbnb's in the area are not very nice, so while you may save some money you won't be able to experience all Miami has to offer.
Ok now that we got that out the way let's talk about Miami neighborhoods, in this guide I share my favorite areas to stay Brickell, South Beach, Aventura and Coral Gables.

Brickell is considered the "business district" of Miami and is often confused with downtown. Most often people staying in Brickell are in town for business but even if your here to play and not work staying in this area is great if you want to be able to walk to restaurants, bars, or go shopping. Hotels in this area are great for skyscraper/city views meaning that staying in this area will make you feel the hustle and bustle of the city.
Choosing a hotel in Brickell means you will have close proximity to the center of the city and can easily explore museums or go shopping at high-end stores in the Design District or the Brickell City Centre.
Everyone goes to South Beach, and it is either a love it or hate but I will try to convince you to love it. Staying on the beach means you will be surrounded by 50's nostalgia. Pastel colors, Neon Lights, Art Deco architecture. Booking a hotel in this area not only means that you will be able to wake up every morning and walk across the street for a dip in the ocean but also means you will be in walking distance to multiple restaurants, the Versace mansions and the city's best nightclubs and bars.
Pharell's hotel is beautiful! The rooms are artfully decorated, the rooftop pool is an oasis, and the in-house restaurants Strawberry Moon offers delicious Mediterranean plates.
The Kimpton Angler is a gorgeous hotel right steps from the beach, which provides it guest with a rooftop pool, bike rentals and an amazing bar at the lobby.
The Biltmore is a historic and opulent hotel that truly makes you feel like royalty. This accommodation is perfect for celebrations or if you want to "Treat Yō self". The pool is beautiful, and you can even make a reservation for afternoon high tea.
THesis hotel briges the gables historical character with a modern touch. This stay is great if you want to check out the Gables, Coconut Grove and the rest of South Miami.
This hotel has the feel of the Biltmore but at a more affordable price. I love its pink exterior very "old school Florida".

Aventura
Last but not least is Aventura (my hometown), this area is not often what first time visitors think of when visiting Miami, but this is the perfect location if you want to feel like a local. Aventura is between FTL airport and MIA airport meaning that it gives you easy access to travel between Broward and Miami-Dade County.
Additionally, you will be nearby one of the chicest malls - Aventura and Balharbour Mall, nearby one of the crowd-free beaches- check out Sunny Isles
SERENA Hotel Aventura Miami, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
The Turnberry hotel offering golf courses, a spa, beautiful pool is perfect if you're looking for a romantic or relaxing getaway.
Additionally, it is across the street from Aventura Mall one of the most luxurious shopping centers in the city.

The Diplomat Beach Resort Hollywood, Curio Collection by Hilton
The Diplomat is a staple in the area, providing direct beach access and several pools to relax at if you want to avoid the sand.
While it technically not in Miami, the Diplomat is on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk which out of all the beaches in South Florida is the best boardwalk for families, couples or just a solo traveler wanting to ride a bike with view.
