Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

Named the best Sculpture Park in the United States by readers of USA Today in 2023 and 2024, this amazing park is a must-visit. There is so much to see and do. You can spend the day viewing a collection of 200 sculptures, walking through the indoor and outdoor gardens, or attending one of the special exhibitions they hold throughout the year. There is something for everyone!

Grand Rapids Public Museum

This museum is a great place to spend a couple hours. It has a planetarium where you can watch a show, a lot of interesting and informative exhibits about Michigan and Grand Rapids history, and a beautiful carousel from 1928 that you can ride on.

Heritage Hill

When threatened with destruction in the 1960s, Heritage Hill's residents banded together to create a plan to save their neighborhood. The result is the largest concentration of 19th and early 20th-century houses in Michigan. It is a wonderful spot to walk around and enjoy the history and architecture of Grand Rapids.

Meyer May House

Frank Lloyd Wright designed the Meyer May house in 1908. It was restored in the 1980s and now has everything from the light fixtures to the carpets as Wright designed. Schedule a tour through the website and visit this beautifully restored example of a Wright Prairie house.

The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum

Ford is the only president to come from Michigan and this museum teaches you all about him and his legacy. In addition to its permanent exhibits about his life and achievements, it also has temporary exhibits about related topics. The museum includes a life size Oval Office and Cabinet Room!

Grand Rapids Children's Museum

Kids love this museum that has interactive exhibits that cater to a wide range of ages. It is closed some days and closes before 5 on others so make sure to check the times before going.

Blue Bridge

Take a stroll across Grand Rapids' iconic Blue Bridge! This vibrant pedestrian walkway, painted a sky blue, was originally a railroad bridge built in 1892. It lights up at night and gives a great view of Grand Rapids during the day.

This scenic park offers stunning river views and green space. Ah-Nab-Awen was once a Native American village, and the park honors this past with artwork and markers. It's a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll or a picnic, while learning a bit about Grand Rapids' unique history.

There is an indoor pool, gym, and on-site restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Many guests praise the friendly staff, clean rooms, and comfortable beds at the Courtyard.

MDRD also has artfully prepared desserts that you will want to check out.

Great restaurant that focuses on meat and whiskey. It has a walled patio that is fun to sit on in the summer. It does not take reservations, but does have a wait list that you can join. It is very popular, so if you are planning to go at a busy time, be prepared to wait. The food is work waiting for though!
