Where to stay

The Postern - Guest house in Epernay
@jasminehartwig
This has been by far my favourite stay in all my travels. It is a family-run bed and breakfast. The two daughters run it now and have taken over the business including producing their own in-house champagne brand. When checking in make sure to add the champagne tasting option. Its a great start to your weekend in the region and helps you learn a lot!

While we did not dine here, this came highly suggested by other travellers for their unique cuisine. They blend Thai and french and this is a suggestion on the Michelin guide site.

Champagne Alfred Gratien

We were told to go here by our bed and breakfast hosts. This was one of our favourite champagne houses. They also ship to Canada so for us this was a huge plus.

Champagne Mercier

Make sure to book a champagne tour. This was the one we chose because it has an underground self-directed mini-train. It was very cool to see everything and we finished off with a tasting of 3 of their champagnes.

Moët et Chandon

While we did not go here! We all know this champagne brand so it is very neat to walk in and grab a glass. You can tour the outside for free and see just how massive this villa truly is.

Things to do

Facil-e-bike
@jasminehartwig
We rented bikes and rode down the canal lateral a la marne. We started in Epernay and went all the way down just past Cumieres. Riding through vineyards and small towns this was one of our core memories.

Château Perrier
@jasminehartwig
This is a great museum on the history and creation of Champagne. We were not able to go as it was closed when we were visiting. I highly suggest the audio guide if you do go.
