General food tips

There are countless food options in Bangkok, from hawkers selling pork sticks on the side of the road to fine dining on the 56th floor of a 5 star hotel. Having spent around 6 months in Thailand I have picked up a few general tips that'll help you enjoy your food journey in Bangkok and all of Thailand.

1. Hawkers (Carts on the side of the road) provide tasty, quick and cheap food. If you see a queue of people, stop and try whatever they are serving , it'll be safe and great!

2. If there is no menu in your preferred language don't worry, everyone will try and help whether its staff or customers.

3. Eat everything you can find, its worth it for the taste and experience.

4. You will pay more the closer you are to the city centre, The same as most cities, you'll likely notice a significant drop in price as you walk further from the centre

Want to experience breakfast as a local? Joke, a rice based breakfast dish, its simple, tasty and very affordable. There are just a couple of choices from the board on the wall, if your Thai is patchy you'll need your phone to translate the menu on the wall, its worth it though!
