For a quick and international break, go to the Garbatella market, there is a stall waiting for you: Yaluz. Every day you can find international cuisine dishes cooked with love, from falafel to tandoori chicken, from Greek couscous to pulled pork, in an informal and family environment where children are welcome to run around the market stalls.
Tips: check their social pages to find out the menus of the day.

Luna e L'Altra Ristrò-Caffetteria
@dorella
If you need a break from chaotic Trastevere, don’t miss this garden: it seems to be elsewhere. Inside the Casa Internazionale delle Donne, this bistro is managed by the Cooperativa Sociale Stella Filante, which has as its main aim the human promotion and social integration of women. The kitchen offers traditional, vegetarian and vegan menus with great attention to raw materials. The tables are arranged in a quiet garden with a playground for children: ideal for enjoying lunch with the little ones.
Tips: during sunny days reserve a table in the garden!

Caffè Nemorense
@dorella
Inside the Virgiliano Park in the Northern Rome area, this bar-bistro is excellent for a breakfast, an aperitif or to nibble on something (I recommend the parmigiana). Immersed in a park with 2 play areas available for children, it is the perfect refreshment for hot summer evenings.
Tips: bring mosquito repellent!

Casale dei Cedrati
@dorella
After visiting the splendid Villa Pamphili, take a break in this delightful bar with bookshop. For breakfast, light lunch or aperitif, the offer is tasty and gourmet. There is always an exhibition to visit, or a sunset concert to listen to, while children have fun in the park without the worry of cars around.
Tips: on weekends they organize workshops for children. Check out their IG page to reserve your spot

Explora, il Museo dei Bambini di Roma
@dorella
In the center of Rome you can't miss Explora, the children's museum. Themed installations, play spaces for the little ones, fun and learning paths that range from art to technology, equal opportunities to science and economics. There is a toy train to ride, a radio booth to play on the radio and a large tub to experiment with water features.
Tips: Buy your ticket online in advance and if you get a little hungry on the way out, stop at the Da Michele pizzeria, the real Neapolitan pizza.

Bioparco di Roma
@dorella
A short walk from the Casina di Raffaello you can find the Bioparco, the oldest zoo in Italy. Here you can find animals of every species, from the little tiger Kala born a few months ago, to the Komodo dragon, from giraffes to small lemurs, from penguins to the brown bear.
Tips: bring a sandwich and have lunch on the picnic tables scattered throughout the park.

Inside Villa Borghese, in a beautiful 1500s building, there is a game room for children aged 3 to 14. The space is accessible for free during opening hours, and offers a rich program of activities and workshops for all ages.
Tips: rent a traditional rickshaw to get there and tour the whole of Villa Borghese.

Parco Tevere Marconi
@dorella
On the banks of the Tiber river, enjoy a pleased afternoon with your family: while kids can play in one of the largest playgrounds in the capital, with sand diggers, multisensory games and a zip line for the little ones, adults enjoy the urban beach with deckchairs and have an Italian aperitif at the kiosk offering a selection of drinks and tapas.
Tips: On weekends birthday parties will be easy to find. Wish the birthday boy a happy birthday, you always earn a slice of cake.
