Mt. Fuji
Mount Fuji is only available to hike early July to early September. We climbed in mid August with perfect weather. Unfortunately, typoon season in Japan is also in July-September, but we only experienced the effects in Tokyo.
We originally wanted to book a guided tour up Mt, Fuji, but I don’t think one is necessary. We chose to do the Yoshida trail, which is the most popular trail.
The hike to the top of Mt. Fuji took us 2 days with about 11 hours of hiking and a rest inside a mountain hut. It’s suitable for all levels of fitness, but I do recommend to train beforehand.
Mountain Hut Cost: ¥6,000 per person
Deposit ¥1,000 per person
Ascent: 7 hours
Descent: 4 hours
