About Puerto Escondido

- Puerto Escondido is divided into five distinctive areas: La Punta, Zicatela, Centro, Rinconada, and La Barra.

- While the internet connection can be unreliable in some places, there are several spots where a stable connection is available throughout the year (see Where to work section)

- Puerto Escondido has it all, wildlife (whales, dolphins, turtles...), beautifull beaches, a vibrant nightlife, many activities (surfing, yoga, hiking, bouldering...) and amazing local and international restaurants.

- This town is also renowned for its excellent surfing conditions. If you're into surfing or want to try it, this is the place. Zicatela Beach is famous for its powerful waves, attracting surf enthusiasts from around the world, whereas La Punta and Playa Carrizalillo are suitable for beginners aswell.

-- La Punta has a curfew, with everything closing at 11 PM. For those seeking a more energetic nightlife, Zicatela is the go-to spot. It's just a 5-minute cab ride or a 30-minute walk away, providing a different atmosphere after hours.

- Rent or buy a bike, for long stay, this will help you to commute easily!
