Safety in Cape Town

Although Cape Town is one of the safest cities in South Africa. We recommend being cautious! Follow these tips & you will be all good!

Don't walk around alone or in small groups at night time. Especially on the beaches & in the city.

Don’t have your phone clearly visible, especially when looking for an Uber. Rather memorise the number plate and put your phone in your bag.

Do not hike in groups of less than 4 people. And avoid hiking when it is still dark.

We do not recommend using the Minibus Taxi’s as transport. (Below)The Minibus Taxi’s are one of South Africa’s main forms of public transport, with many locals using them as their main form of transport. They tend to be overcrowded and bend the rules of the road. Rather take an Uber or MyCiti bus.
