Day 1: Travel Day

Spend this day getting to the Dolomites.

Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE): About 2.5 to 3 hours away by car.

Innsbruck Airport (INN): Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours by car.

Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP): Approximately 3.5 to 4.5 hours by car

Day 2: Tre Cime di Lavaredo & Cadini di Misurina

Highlights: Tre Cime Caves; Locatelli Refugio; Tre Cime; Cadini di Misurina Panorama; Lake Antorno

Your first full day in the Dolomites will provide a great introduction to the region's hiking terrain. You can reach the starting points for each hike by car (paid parking available) or by taking a bus from nearby Cortina d'Ampezzo or Dobbiaco. To secure a parking spot, aim to arrive at the toll booth on the road to Tre Cime di Lavaredo by 6 AM during peak season. Parking at Rifugio Auronzo will allow you to hike at a relaxed pace without the worry of catching a bus back to the valley later. Be sure to bring enough water, as there are several refuges along the way for lunch, but they are only open during high season.
