Lisbon has it all: gorgeous buildings, local music, incredible food, fascinating history, and more! This itinerary is ideal for a first-time visitor that wants a deep dive into Lisbon in a short amount of time.
I also offer an add-on board for exploring Sintra if you have another day! It’s an easy day trip from Lisbon.
On this guide, you’ll get:
- the major sights with notes on what you’re seeing and if they need advanced booking
- an interactive map to help navigate you to each spot
- instructions on how to get around Lisbon
- a few activities for each day, with guidance on which are more optional and which are must-do
- 6 restaurants at varying price points, 2 bars, and 2 tours worth the cost!

Lisbon is one of the smallest European capital cities, but it packs so much in! It’s a great destination if you want beauty, architecture, great food, or history. It’s also crazy cheap for a Western European city, which is a nice bonus.
You can get a good overview in two days, with plenty of time to explore and meander.
One note: definitely try as many pastéis de nata as possible! While you can find bakeries that only make these, they’re amazing almost anywhere you try them as long as they’re freshly made. Top with cinnamon - there’s always a shaker right by the cash register!
Where to Stay
Lisbon's cost of living is pretty great; one of the best major cities for reasonable prices in western Europe!Â

Amateur Italian, travel advisor, and adventurous eater!
I’m a travel creative living in small town northern Italy, and I've been planning travel for over 15 years. I've lived on three continents and visited over 40 countries, so I'm passionate about helping travelers experience the best of a location, no matter where!
I love both/and travel: I want to see the big sights AND the local hangouts, the big cities AND the small towns. I’d love to help you do it too!
If you’re going to Rome for the first time, you don’t need me to tell you to see the Colosseum. But you might want me to tell you if it’s better as a guided tour or on your own, what add-on’s are worth the money, and what are the extra secret things your ticket can get you!
My favorite part of travel is eating well: finding the local haunts, tasting a new wine, and trying the local dishes. Amazing food doesn't have to be expensive: sometimes the best of a place is in the street food! But if it is a splurge, I'll make sure it's worth every penny.
I'd love to work with you to create the trip of your dreams!
