Guide to Visiting Ligonchio: Hidden Treasures in the Mountains

Yasmine Comito
Ligonchio, Reggio Emilia Apennines in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. A perfect destination for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and those seeking to immerse themselves in local traditions and culture. During the Second World War, the partisans crossed these paths, fighting for the future and the freedom of the following generations. While we walk there, we must remember the importance of these places immersed in dense nature, which allowed those people to hide from the enemy.

I highly recommend this hostel as it is cheap and well-stocked. I slept in these wooden houses: the rooms were modern and the right size, tidy as the bathrooms. Some of these houses also had a small balcony overlooking the courtyard.

Ah, and the food was also great!

Breakfast was in buffet style. My favourite menu is asparagous risotto, polenta, and cream with berries.

How to dress?

The weather is relatively mild, but I recommend suitable boots and waterproof clothing for the excursions.
