Best Places to Stay on Madeira Island Without a Car

The views from this hotel are my favorite feature; they are really breathtaking! It also features a complimentary minibus that regularly transports visitors to Funchal's downtown.

Although this hotel is a little bit farther from Funchal's center, it more than makes up for it with tons of amazing features. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, so getting to Funchal should not be too difficult anyway. Other notable features include the views, the lovely promenade nearby, and the proximity to restaurants and a shopping center with other useful services. Additionally, the stunning Formosa Beach is right nearby too! If you would prefer something other than a standard hotel room, the hotel also has apartments with a small kitchen available.

Aside from being a very good hotel, the location is excellent! It is right next to one of Funchal's main avenues, close to many food options, and very near the port where you can catch the ferry to Porto Santo, which is a really nice day trip option or a place where you can stay for a few nights if you're mostly interested in relaxing by the beach
