Olympic National Park: The Ultimate Guide
Getting There
Olympic is one of the easier national parks to get to due to its proximity to Seattle. If you're from out of state, fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and pick up a rental car. From there you'll have a roughly 2 hour drive to Port Angeles or a 3 hour drive to Forks, depending on where you start. There are two ways of driving there, both take similar amounts of time.
Option 1:
This route is the "easiest" but is the longest mileage wise. You will go around the bay through the city of Tacoma and drive up into the peninsula. This route is 129 miles and takes ~2.5 hours.
Option 2:
This is the more scenic route but can be a hassle if you're flying in and renting a car. This route involves taking the ferry from downtown Seattle to Bainbridge island, and driving from there. If your flights align with the ferry schedule (linked below) then this is the superior option. Unfortunately, ours did not so we took the above route.
