Belgrano

Casa Sáenz
@nicki
Because this is a cute cafe on the corner in Belgrano, it's on the upscale/pricier side than what you might find in other places. But the atmosphere is wonderful. It's like a brightly lit cafe with good vibes. They make their food fresh every day. Tons of vegan and vegetarian options like stuffed eggplant, brussel sprouts, spinach fritters, and corn pudding. But here's a tip- they open at noon, and I strongly suggest getting there as early as possible. They food they make at the start of the day sits out on the counter for the rest of the lunch shift. People have the option to come over and take a look at the specialties of the day. That means, people are standing right over your potential lunch. But if you get there early you don't have to worry about it.

Gordo Vegano
@nicki
Everything in this cafe is fully vegan. And delicious. The food and fresh pressed juices were truly divine. I highly recommend this for the food. However, I'll be honest about the atmosphere. The layout doesn't make a lot of sense and messes with the energy of the place. It was just not very comfortable. It's a long and skinny location, with the bar exactly in the middle of the restaurant. The waiters don't come to your table to take your order; you have to order and pay at the register in the middle of the room. There are also a few tables in the small space between the wall and the coffee counter, which creates a really bizarre bottle neck effect. If you sit at the tables in the back, the bench is extremely uncomfortable as it's hard wood that hits right in the middle of your back. If you sit in the front, you're constantly bothered by the front door opening and closing. So go for the food, not the atmosphere!

Colegiales

Pipí Cucú

This restaurant is just next door to the beautiful Pasaje General Paz in Colegiales. The decorations are interesting and mostly cute, but kind of give the feeling that they aren't sure what kind of restaurant they want to be: a fancy, upscale French vibe, or very eclectic and Bohemian. This restaurant is not solely vegeterian, but there are several vegetarian and vegan options, so the non-meat eaters will not have any issue here. We ate the "meatballs" made from quinoa and garbanzo beans, as well as the eggplant lasagna. We went at noon on a Thursday and we were the first people to arrive. A bit later other customers started to arrive, but we had no issue getting a table. The service was good, and the food came out quickly. The lunch special is 1800 pesos for: a main dish drink (water, wine, or soda) dessert (flan, crepe, or chocolate mousse) Coffee

Salvaje Bakery
@nicki
This is easily the BEST bakery in the entire city. First of all, the atmosphere is COOL. It feels more like you're inside a funky garage than a bakery, with an American 90's rock flair. There is indoor and outdoor seating. You can have brunch while jamming to Blind Melon and staring at photos of Kurt Cobain on the walls. Everyone who works there has great style and is super friendly. Also, this place Is BUSY, which is a very good sign. On top of that, the food is delicious. It's not specifically a vegan/vegetarian spot, but there are a TON Of options to satisfy those dietary requirements including veggie sandwiches and beet dip. The bread (sandwich bread, croissants, bagels, etc.) are all extremely fresh, as are the juices. This is a place I will come back to again and again. Not to mention, the prices are extremely fair.

Verdín
@nicki
This small coffee shop is so unassuming from the outside, but super cute on the inside. Green walls and plants everywhere, just as the name "verdin" might suggest. This was the first place I was able to find a chai latte in the city. They have a ton of fresh, homemade treats, as well as fresh bread. I ordered the grilled veggie sandwich on homemade bread and it was a delight. They also have an upstairs seating area, and an outdoor terrace for those beautiful days. Verdin is a slice of peace in the city.
