Belgium - quick and remarkable! Brussel, Bruges, Ghent and Ostend ❤️
Day 1. Ostend
After leaving train station, pay attention to the small port on the left hand and carefully look at the bridge - is it Split up (because someone on his boat may want to go to sea, this happens here often). Having seen enough of all this sailing, it's time to refresh yourself! On the left, you will see a lot of street shops with excellent seafood. In Ostend, you should try all varieties of seafood dishes - soups, mussels, oysters, shrimps, fried fish ...
Here you have fish, shrimp, mussels, and the signature dish - snail soup, in general, for every taste and budget (by the way, about the wallet, portions here cost from 5 to 10 euros, which is very budgetary by Belgian standards). My advice to you: do not buy into a beautiful appearance, better take smaller trays and without sauce, but more expensive.
The most traditional dish is mussels in white wine or cream sauce (blue cheese 🧀). For some local beer, head to the Oostende 't Koelschip Brewery at Van Iseghemlaan 101.
