Visit Tablas & Romblon
I'm talking about these two islands together because it's very easy to get from one to the other, and they're pretty much standalone islands.
They're sort of close to Boracay , so you could go to Boracay right after. But Boracay isn't in my travel guide because I don't really love it, but I do love Tablas & Romblon.
Getting here
You can fly directly from Manila in about an hour and 10 minutes to Tablas. Flights are typically not too expensive, and it's not a very busy flight route, other than for locals.
You may also be able to fly out of Romblon, so you could fly to Tablas, then take a boat to Romblon, then fly out of there to either Cebu or Manila. They might only fly to Manila, but that won't be too much of a detour if that's your only option. It will add a bit to your travel day, but I think it's worth it.
Why visit?
For those of you who are craving something unique in your trip, or an off-the-beaten-path adventure, this is the place. There is nothing in my itinerary right now that quite compares to these islands. It's definitely a very raw adventure, and I'm so happy I found it.
Tablas
If you go to Tablas, definitely stay at Footprints.
Go rent a bike and explore. There ar no real notable things to see, but it's a crazy good place to watch the sunset and enjoy good company.
I'd recommend coming with someone because you won't likely meet many other people. I didn't see any other tourists the entire time I was there. I felt very safe.

Island Hopping Tour
This is a great thing to do when visiting Romblon. They took us to a couple of nearby islands with some of the bluest water I've ever seen. I definitely recommend it. I think I paid $20-$25 for the whole day, which was very reasonable.
Let's get lost in the next one...✌️
