Here is a list for some things to do in San Luis Obispo. We love San Luis Obispo because we went to Cal Poly for four years and really got to know the area.

Coffee: Blackhorse, Kreuzberg, Libertine, Scouts

Hikes: Bishops Peak, Madonna, Islay hill, Serenity Swing (can go through Architecture Graveyard), Montaña De Oro State Park- walk around or hike Valencia Peak, Lizzie Tower, The Cal Poly P, Avila Ridge, Point San Luis/Avila Lighthouse (have to do with docent), Elfin Forest in Los Osos

BBQ: Firestone Grill, Old SLO Bbq

Pizza: Woodstock’s

Mexican: Taqueria de Santa Cruz, La Esquina Taqueria

Ramen: Raku Ramen

Fancier Dinners: Giuseppe’s, Luna Red, Koberl at Blue

Sandwich: Kona’s, High Street (long wait online order)

Bars: Barrel House, Bull's Tavern, F. McLintocks, Frog and Peach

Things to do: Sunset drive in movie theater, walk Avila beach and shops, Paddle Board or Kayak in Avila or Moro Bay, San Luis Mission, Avila Valley Barn, Farmers market (Thursday night), walk Cal Poly campus, watch the sunset at Perfumo Canyon or Terrace Hill, walk down town Pismo & the Pismo Pier, Wine taste in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, or Pismo area, walk the Cal Poly Arboretum

Serenity Swing - park on campus, start at Building 72- Plant Conservatory, follow the dirt road trail Poly Canyon St. It will end after about 1 mile at the entrance to Architecture Graveyard on the left or go straight/right past a barn & house to serenity swing.

Lizzie Tower- The hike is called Lizzie Tower by some because you can start the hike at the end of Lizzie Street near Dignity Health- French Hospital.

Pismo Preserve

Looking back at Morro Rock on the beach (dog friendly!)

Sunset at Pismo- you can walk on the beach or go to Grover Beach and drive on the beach.
