Day 1

Breakfast

Sidecar Donuts should be at the top of everyone's list when visiting Orange county. They have an assortment of monthly delicious flavors, as well as gluten free and vegan options!

You can't visit Newport beach without stopping into Side Car for a donut. Wether it is for breakfast, a snack or dessert, you will NOT want to miss out on this.

Day one should be spent at the beach of course! If you are looking for a more active first day I recommend renting a bike ride and taking it down the board walk, swimming in the waves, walking along the pier, or renting a surf board.

Lunch

After a few hours in the sun you will need a snack, and something refreshing! Head over to Banzai Bowls for a delicious smoothie bowl, both nutritious and delicious. Or if you'd prefer something a bit more filling, Dory Deli is a great spot right along the board walk.

Shopping & Dinner w/a View

Once you have had enough of the beach, I would head over to Lido Marina Village. Here you can enjoy a variety of shopping, and food options. This is a great place to have dinner with a great view of the harbor. My top choices for food here are Bear flag or Malibu Farms.

Balboa Island Ferry

Take the Ferry over to Balboa Island for $1.25 per person (Don't forget cash!!). Balboa island is made up of a big island and a little island. The big one is about 2 miles around, and the small one is 0.8, if you're looking to get some steps in today, it is a beautiful walk. I enjoy looking at all of the houses that have lots of character around the island. And if you head to Marine Ave. you will find shops, food, and sweet treats.

Room for Dessert?

If you're looking for a guilty pleasure, or something a little less guilty these are two of my favorite dessert spots.

Salt & Straw
@calistahackworth
Originally from Portland, Salt & Straw has finally made its way to Newport Beach!! And boy are we lucky. You can smell this ice cream shop from miles away, and if you think the smell is good, then you have to try their crazy assortment of never before seen flavors!!

Pressed
@calistahackworth
Pressed is a local favorite, it is a healthier alternative to ice cream. Despite the list of natural and clean ingredients, a pressed freeze always satisfies my sweet tooth. If you are vegan, or just looking for a yummy dessert Pressed is the place to go.

Activities for today

Today we are going to head over to Huntington Beach. Which is the beach city directly North of Newport, and although they are neighbors the two cities are so different.

Huntington Beach offers so much to do and see. You should take sometime walking around Main Street and Pacific City.

Huntington is also a great place to rent a bike or surf board for the day!

Dinner

How does Pizza sound for dinner tonight?

Folks Pizzeria
@calistahackworth
The best pizza in town but make sure to make a reservation because it fills up quick!

If Pizza doesn't sound good to you, there are a few other food options in the same shopping center as Folks! I would recommend The Taco Stand, or Slurpin' Ramen.
