Backpack
It's good to have a backpack that isn't too big! It just makes it harder. I chose to take a 30-liter backpack with me. It's really good and sits well on the back.
Regarding weight, I would recommend carrying as little as possible. Maximum 10 kg with water.
Hiking footwear
It varied a lot of what people wore as hiking footwear. Some had running shoes, others used Salomon sneakers. However, many got blisters, etc., for various reasons. I am a huge advocate for the hiking boots I had. I only got a single blister:)))
Here they are:
Even though they look big and wild (and expensive), they're made of leather both on the outside and inside, which means they don't get too hot to wear! And they won't smell bad either (huge plus). The sole can also be replaced for a price if you bring them to Eventyrsport.
