First - quality of the food. Second - generous portions. Third - excellent service. Fourth - competitive prices. Sometimes they even let you take home the "leftovers". it's y small, popular place so a reservation is a must. But in 37 years here I have not found a better Cocido. - Nancy

Diego serves the best dessert I've ever had, and the all-round experience is (still) a very good value introduction into what Michelin-starred food is all about. (I should add, to be fair, I've also had one of the desserts I've least liked - but the good one wins out. - Brian

It’s a special place for me as it’s where I first had a lot of classic tapas. They have the staples there. Tortilla. Bravas, jamón, cecina, smoked sardines, vermut, gildas, and more. Plus it’s been open over 100 years and still looks like it did in the 1950s. Crawl under the bar to get to the back room and toilets. - Gareth
