Sardinia - Sailing "La Maddalena" in 6 days

Ilaria
Ever dreamed of swimming in crystal-clear blue waters that look straight out of a postcard? Then let me introduce you to Sardinia! šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ WhatĀ“s inside: - Location info about Sardinia - Route for a 6 day sailing trip - Best spots to jump in the crystal clear water - Sailing hacks & best practices - Food inspo and shopping tips - Most important items for a sailing trip - Useful apps - Best time to visit If you really want to experience the magic of Sardinia, thereā€™s no better way than from the deck of a sailing boat. Picture yourself gliding across the turquoise sea, stopping at secluded beaches, and exploring hidden coves. But letā€™s be real ā€“ Sardinia is massive and sailing around the entire island in just 6 days isnā€™t realistic. Thatā€™s why Iā€™m here to guide you to one of its most breathtaking areas: La Maddalena Archipelago. This stunning group of islands is a natural protection area (pristine beaches, untouched nature and waters so clear youā€™ll want to dive in every chance you get). Itā€™s a paradise waiting to be explored, and Iā€™ll show you exactly how to make the most of your trip.

Sardinia isnĀ“t just another Mediterranean island - itĀ“s a world of its own, rich in history, culture and breathtaking landscapes. As the second-largest island in the Mediterranean it boasts over 1.800 kilometers of coastline and is home to some of the clearest waters in Europe.šŸŽÆLocated between ItalyĀ“s mainland, Spain and North Africa, Sardinia has been a crossroads of civilizations for thousands of years.Ā The island is dotted with ancient Nuragic ruins, stone towers built over 3.500 years ago. It rugged mountains, wild landscapes and charming coastal towns create a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.Ā Important to mention is the food - fresh seafood, handmade pasta and world-famous pecorino cheese. As basically everywhere in Italy it is a must to try out some local dishes. In Sardinia you have to try Culurgiones, Pane Carasau and Seadas.Ā šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ How to get there:Ā Getting on the island is easy, with direct flights from major European cities to airports in Olbia, Cagliari and Alghero. If you prefer a scenic route, ferries run from mainland Italy, allowing you to bring a car on the island.Ā Some ferries even run over night and you can book a cabin and sleep all the way through till youĀ“re there. If you take the night ferry I can only recommend doing so!

Whether youĀ“re here for the history, the nature or simply to soak in the laid-back island lifestyle, Sardinia is a destination that stays with you long after you leave.Ā A preferred way of mine how to experience this magical island is from the water. So letĀ“s hop on deck and letĀ“s set sail!

The Trip

Day 1:Ā

Your adventure begins in Olbia, where youĀ“ll hop aboard your boat and start your journey. If you or someone in your group has the required boating license, you can rent your own boat for the ultimate freedom to explore at your own pace. No license? No worries!

You can join an organized sailing trip with a trusted company. One I personally recommend is "Join the Crew" - theyĀ“re experienced and know how to make every trip unforgettable.Ā Ā
