Transportation:

The Cotswolds is a relatively rural area and can be visited in a day from London. However, if you prefer a slow-travel, it's important to stay overnight. Whichever you prefer, make sure to keep these in mind when planning your trip:

TRAIN - The easiest way to get to the Cotswolds by train from London is to take a train from London Paddington station to Moreton-in-Marsh. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 37 minutes. There are also direct trains from London Paddington to Cheltenham Spa, which is a larger town in the Cotswolds, and from London Marylebone to Banbury, which is on the northeastern edge of the Cotswolds.

BUS - Once you arrive at the train stationin Cotswold, most buses run 1-2 hours interval so be sure to keep this mind when planning.

CAR - Probably the most convenient way to explore the tiny villages of Cotswold at your own pace.

The best time to visit:

The Cotswolds is a beautiful place to visit any time of year, but it's especially beautiful in the springtime and autumn, when the leaves are changing color.

Weather:

Be sure to pack for all types of weather, as the weather in the Cotswolds can be unpredictable.
