Sustainable Shopping: Best Thrift Stores in Madrid 🛍️

Sustainable Shopping: Best Thrift Stores in Madrid 🛍️

Sydney Luttazi
Thrifting is a great way to buy new pieces of clothing while also saving a few extra dollars...and most importantly it's a sustainable way to shop! I spent a lot of my free time in Madrid wondering around the streets finding new thrift stores to browse through and I ended up purchasing some amazing pieces I will keep for a long time! In this guide you will find my top recommendations for thrift stores in Madrid organized by area so you can plan your shopping day around what area you want to visit, or if you find yourself in the shopping mood while your out and about you can check this guide to see what is nearby! Keep in mind stores are usually closed on Sundays and store hours are typically 10:00/11:00 until 20:00/21:00, but beware that the Spanish take their siesta seriously and stores may be closed around 14:30-16:30!

Hello! I'm Sydney, I am from the US but I am currently living in Spain for the second year in a row and absolutely loving life here! I lived in Madrid for 11 months as an Aupair and now I am currently living in Tenerife in the Canary Islands working as an English teaching assistant. I decided after college I wanted to prioritize travel and step out of my comfort zone so I found a job working as an Aupair and I fell in love with Spain. I have met so many like minded young women along the way and have created life long friendships along the way. Living abroad has allowed me to grow and flourish in a way I didn't know was possible, and exploring new cities and cultures has enriched my life so much. I want to help out other young female travelers, either solo or groups of friends, who are looking for great recommendations around Madrid and other parts of Spain! I know it can be daunting to travel solo as a woman so I want to share my knowledge and tips to help make your experience amazing and give you some confidence along the way.
