Running London

Running London

Having run the London Marathon in 2023 and paired it with a birthday trip for my husband and I, I have some tips and plans you can follow to plan your days wisely. Whether you are running the London Marathon or you just enjoy seeing everything on foot I hope this is helpful!

Prep and Packing

We used Delta Vacations for our trip and were able to find a decent deal since we are sky miles members and couple apply our points as credit!

If you are running the marathon make sure to pack at least three pair of running shoes, one for the race, one for walking around, and one for any shakeout/easy runs you have while there. Since it's rainy, you don't want to end up limited. Also make sure to bring a warm outfit to change into post-race, most likely you will not have a 'quick' commute back to your hotel or rental.

Make sure to pack your own fuel. Food is a bit different in Europe and I made the wrong move on relying on the "on course" fuel options and I paid the consequences at about mile 22.

Day 1 - Travel Day

4:00pm - Arrive at ATL International Terminal, we have Sky Priority so we made it through security quickly, but the regular line was long so make sure you get there with enough time.
