Whether your looking for a chilled day at the beach, party vibes or a gastronomic affair - my guide to the best French Riviera Beach Clubs will tell you everything you need to know from Monaco to St. Tropez and everywhere in between đď¸
Itâs no secret that the French Riviera is a pricey place to visit. The beach clubs listed in my guide are going to be some of the most expensive in the Europe. Places like St Tropez, Cannes and Monaco will have the most expensive sun beds where as the smaller towns in between will be better value and sometimes more family friendly!
Sunloungers
~ Sunloungers can start from 15⏠per bed to 50⏠in peak season. This is quite normal for the riviera. Be sure to check the clubs website or social media for prices before you visit to avoid any surprises!
Food & Drink
~ Most beach clubs do not allow food or drink to be brought onto their beach. This can even include water in some places. Just be mindful of this.
Dining
~ You will usually find two menus, the beach menu and the restaurant menu. The beach menus can be eaten on your sunlounger for a more relaxed lunch, the menu will usually include Club Sandwiches, Salads and Burgers. The restaurant menu will be a sit down dining experience, in their beach side restaurant. Your sunlounger will still be reserved for you whilst you enjoy your lunch. Be aware that most places will ask you to cover up in their restaurant so make sure to wear your T-shirts and kaftans. This will include kids too.
Getting here
~ Most, if not all of the clubs listed here are accessible by train, walking or bus. Most train stations are within walking distance of the beach.
After sun
~ Most clubs will start to clear away their sun beds around 6pm to make way for their sundowners sessions. They will be replaced with lounge furniture and/or dining tables for the evening reservations (dinner is usually from 7pm)
Top tip from me
~ Travel to the Riviera on in September, my favourite month when I lived there. The weather was great (beach weather!), less crowds and apart from the Monaco Boat Show (end of Sept) there isnât much going on. Itâs relaxed and what we called âend of seasonâ. The beach clubs start to close in October so there is a sense of calm this time of year âď¸
Antibes & Cap dâAntibes
ROYAL BEACH - plage privĂŠe de l'hĂ´tel Royal Antibes
We called this our local. We loved a Saturday rosè lunch here. They wonât rush you for your table back so you can relax for the afternoon. Also the only beach bar in Antibes Old Town!
Carl and I used to come here for date night. A great place to get dressed up and watch the sunset over the hills of Nice.
There is a bus that stops here from Antibes bus station but they donât usually run very late. Taxis are available though!
Probably the most famous hotel in the French Riviera. Eden Roc has a long history of welcoming celebrities and the Uber wealthy to their hotel. So, if luxury is you thing then look no further than Eden Roc for your celebrity spotting day at the (kind of) beach đď¸
This famous hotel (ex home of F.Scott Fitzgerald & Zelda) itâs a French Riviera icon and a must visit! The art deco bar is beautiful inside and out. My favourite Old Fashioned cocktail was made here! đ
A place I frequented many a time when I lived in Antibes! I used to come here for sundowners. They move all the sunbed and pull out lounge chairs for us to relax and watch the sunset over lâEsterel đš
My personal favourite plage in Cannes. Away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Cannes, youâll find lâEcrin Plage by Port Canto (the other port in Cannes) itâs a lovely little enclave thatâs both chic and chilled âąď¸
Cap dâAil is a tranquil bay between Nice & Monaco. Naos is the perfect beach bar for swimming in azure waters and to take in the stunning views đď¸
The most famous beach bar in St Tropez, perhaps the whole of the Riviera! Made famous by Bridgette Bardot (who still frequents here with her dogs) this celeb hang out is a great one to tick off the bucket list. Reservations are near impossible here in the peak season (July & August). We visited in May and it was atmospheric without the summertime crowds. Expect to pay ÂŁÂŁÂŁ in this historic beach bar! đšđ¸
Another very famous Beach bar, though technically not on the beach front. With its own pool, DJs and party atmosphere - youâll have a great party in Nikki Beach!
Expects a lively, chic crowd at Anjuna. Great for a party vibe with DJs, great cocktails and bohemian decor đž

đď¸ SAVE this guide for your next French Riviera getaway! My biggest tip is to travel there on the shoulder seasons (May & September) when it is quieter. The weather is still FABULOUS and you will beat the crowds âď¸
