1) Tips
1. Visit La Molina
La Molina is an old mill famous for making gofio, a local food staple. It's been around since the 10th century. It is one of the few stone mills remaining on the islands. This historic site is a great place to learn about the island's traditional culture and enjoy some delicious gofio.
There is a free audio/ video tour that you can follow to understand the process of the Gofio making. The worker is very friendly and this place is not well known so there is a chance that you will be the only visitors.
2. Book a free guided walk in Timanfaya National Park
There are two possible guided walks in the Timanfaya park. The first one starts at El Golfo and the second one at Yaiza. Be aware that you should 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 in order to be able to join this walk as there are only limited spots available. I participated in the El Golfo walk. At the meeting point, we got into the van of the organisation which took us to Playa del Paso. The guide gives information about the fauna and flora of whole Lanzarote. The walk takes about 3 hours and is 2,8 km. The walk is on vulcanic stones and is not flat! 𝗕𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲: 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱!

3. Carnival (during the months February and March)
When I start planning my trip, I always check if there are any special events or traditions taking place during the period I'll be in that country. That's how I discovered that I was present in Lanzarote during the Carnival period. We attended the carnival in the capital, Arrecife.

The Stratified City in Lanzarote, known as Rofera de Teseguite, is a unique set of volcanic rock formations shaped by wind and rain over thousands of years. You can park your car there for free and it is also free to visit.
2. 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐨
The Salinas de Janubio in Lanzarote are the largest salt flats in the Canary Islands, representing significant architectural and cultural value. These salt flats, situated in a lagoon formed by volcanic activity, are designated as a Monument of Scientific Interest due to the presence of migratory birds. Visiting these salt flats offers insight into the local population's efforts to transform the environment and preserve traditional professions. Particularly captivating at dusk, the reflection of sunlight in the pools creates a stunning display of colors.

There are 5 different options to visit the Timanfaya National Park.
1. Visit the park by buying a ticket: you get to see the El Diabolo restaurant and go with a bus through the Timanfaya scenery
