How To Get Around

Walking: There are several methods to navigate Venice, but the most prevalent is undoubtedly walking!

Water Cab: If you aim to reach a more distant location or have bulky luggage to spare the burden, you can opt for a water taxi, though it's worth noting they come at a substantial cost.

Water Buses: Water buses, also known as "vaporettos," provide an excellent means of transportation! Refer to the "where to purchase waterbus tickets" segment for details.

Gondola

Exploring Venice via gondola offers a unique perspective on the city's concealed and typically inaccessible corners.

The fee for a 30-minute ride is approximately €80.00. This fee covers the ENTIRE boat, not per person. A gondola can accommodate up to six people, allowing the cost to be shared. While the water tour can commence from any part of the city, gondolas are commonly found in the main canals or near the Venetian streets/alleys known as "calli."

If the thought of spending 80 or 100 euros on a gondola ride is daunting, don't worry—there's an alternative.

You can still relish the experience at a much more affordable cost: just two euros. How? Hop onto a gondola crossing the Grand Canal, known as the traghetto. It may not be luxurious, and the journey lasts only a minute or two, but it provides ample time to capture a quick photo and enjoy an impressive view of the Grand Canal from a traditional gondola.

The most dependable traghetto crossing is located at the small wooden dock beside the Rialto fish market. This gondola operates daily from around 9 AM to 7 PM
