Cafe's & Restaurants

Sooooooo many places to get amazing coffee and good views, typically with an amazing view of the water. Some places accept credit cards (with a fee of 8-10%) but try to have cash on hand, it's much easier!

Restaurante Maracuyá

You can also get all-day kayak rentals from here - 70Q for a single kayak, and 100Q for a 2-person kayak

Places to Stay

Here are my recommendations for hostels in the area - you can also book on Airbnb but try to be ON the island of Flores, or right over the bridge - so you're close to everything. The island of Flores is extremely walkable, but I wouldn't recommend walking past the bridge, that leads you to the island - it can get a little rough and you don't want to stand out as a tourist

Ahau Tikal
@ciaraxangela
A small hostel close to everything, they have a female-only dorm, mixed dorm, and a private room. A lot of outdoor space and a small kitchen that has everything you need. The owner is kind and welcoming, and there are daily yoga classes and walking tours.

Los Amigos Hostel
@ciaraxangela
A hostel and a restaurant, and even a weekly boat party. One of the first-ever hostels in Guatemala - this is a bright and vibrant place but be prepared to party! They also have a lot of sitting areas and games you can play with AND a communal kitchen. You can book a lot of transportation and tours directly from here. They have private rooms, apartments, and dorms to choose from.

From Flores, you can also get direct and affordable shuttles/busses into Mexico and Belize

Jorge's Rope Swing

You can either get here by taking a kayak or by going by speedboat (lancha). The cost is 25Q, and you can't bring any outside food or drinks - but they do have food and drinks to purchase ranging from 15-50Q! I definitely recommend going around 2pm, and staying until sunset!
