What’s Barcelona like in January?

A visit to Barcelona during the month of January is during the low season. If you’re visiting at the very beginning of the month you’ll catch the end of the holiday season It’s a great time to see the city without as many tourists. If you come at the very beginning of the month, you’re coming just at the end of the holiday season so you can still take advantage to see some of the Christmas lights and decorations. The rest of the month provides a chance to see Barcelona without all the crowds so you can make sure to make it to your favorite restaurants and must-see sites!

What’s the weather like in January?

Check the weather before you come, but even if you see warmer temperatures than you’re used to at home, locals won’t be dressing for the weather, but for the season. January tends to be the coldest month of the year, but it’s not that bad in Barcelona. The good news is it does t rain much and rarely ever snows. You can still be outside all day with average highs around 59 Fahrenheit (~15 Celsius)and average lows being around 48 Fahrenheit (9 Celsius) but definitely dropping a little more at night so make sure to bundle up.
