Stunning falls in Rocky Mountain National Park. These are a must see! You can spend 30 minutes here or 3 hours, there is so much to see and explore. You won't need to book a timed entry pass, but you will need to pay for entry into the park. Best way is to purchase a week long pass. But not needing to purchase a pass makes it a great spot to hang if you're early to your reservation!

Bear Lake

Bear Lake Trailhead

Beautiful trail around the lake! You'll need to book a timed entry pass at the begining of the month you plan on traveling for the Bear Lake entrance to RMNP. The parking lot is usually full at the trailhead, but you can park at one of the earlier lots. Then you can take the free bus to the trailhead!

Serene lake, perfect for a nap, fly fishing, or soaking up the sun. The hike is very moderate and usually full of people 1/2 of the way. But the second half is pretty peaceful! You will need to purchase a timed entry pass for the Bear Lake entrance from RMNP through recreation.gov.

My favorite hike located in Rocky Mountain National Park. It is so beautiful! You'll see 3 lakes in total if you complete the whole trail. It is a difficult hike, but completely worth it! You'll need to book a timed entry pass at the begining of the month you plan on traveling for the Bear Lake entrance to RMNP.

Absolutely stunning veiw of the mountains! There is a significant elevation gain, but it's totally worth it! Many people will hike this trail in the morning as a workout. This is a great first mountain to summit.

Food

Coffee! Coffee! Coffee!

Kind Coffee
@brookegaenzle
My favorite place in Estes! It can get really crowded, but it's so so worth it! Its a great place for coffee, food, and even souvenirs. The Kind Latte is always a go to, but be sure to check their seasonal drinks. The bagel with salmon and cream cheese is amazing, and they even have vegan ice cream made from oat milk!

The Best YMCA I've Ever Been To

YMCA of the Rockies - Estes Park Center
@brookegaenzle
Great campus with cabins, dorms, tennis courts, baseball fields, and mini golf. You can even select a plan where your food is included in your stay! It's absolutely stunning, and you can even see elk passing through at dusk and dawn. Very family and big group friendly!

Allenspark (The Best Sunrise Spot)

Highlands Camp & Retreat Center
@brookegaenzle
This is my favorite place I've stayed in the Rockies! The grounds themselves are just so stunning and there is so much to explore. This is the perfect place for families, large groups, or even single/couple travelers looking for a shared space to stay. You can have food included in your stay, and they will even pack a lunch for your hike upon request. There are some awesome spots to stargaze and watch sunrises/sunsets. It's the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors without fully camping!

Loveland
@brookegaenzle
Loveland is a great little town with tons of Airbnb's to choose from. It's a bit of a drive from RMNP (around 40 minutes), but the drive is beautiful.
