Mallorca, Spain
Tips and Tricks:
- Take a flight from Barcelona, Valencia, or Madrid (typically the cheapest, fastest) to Mallorca (PMI).
- Rent a car! You will 100% need a car to properly see this island, unless you are staying in Palma, which I don’t suggest.
* Our rental car came fully fueled, and after 5 days, we didn’t need to fill up once. If you follow this itinerary, you most likely won’t have to worry about gas stations, but they are easy to figure out anyway.
- I did a TON of research into hotels and definitely feel that I picked the best ones. The hotels in this guide are for a mid-range budget. You can certainly find cheaper options, but I found the best bang for your buck. Almost all of the hotels are nicer than 5 star hotels I’ve stayed at in the United States for only a fraction of the price. Each hotel on this itinerary is around $200 per night but WELL worth the price, and I cannot emphasize that enough.
- Best time to visit: May-October. Anything past this, many restaurants/businesses will be closed down for the winter. Shoulder season (May/October) is best to avoid the crowds. If you are very flexible, go in October. Flights will be the cheapest, there will be way less tourists, and the water will still be warm from the summer sun.
- The island is a little bit more expensive than Mainland Spain. For us Californians, however, it still felt way cheaper than our norm.
