The 5 Best and Budget-Friendly places to go out in Wellington, NZ☀️🙏🏻

Welcome to Wellington. I've explored the city and discovered the three best restaurants that will make you justify going out but also spare your wallet. Wellington used to be the capital of New Zealand so in this big city you will be able to explore so many thing but you need to go have a break after you have done some exploring. This is where my recommendations might help you out.

First of all, Wellington is know for their good restaurants and cafes. There is a reason why Gordon Ramsay used to visit the chef school in Wellington👨🏼‍🍳

Going out for a drink or something to eat doesn't have to be expensive. They have a lot of different places to hang out but some of my personal favorites are listed below - not from the best or anything just places I enjoyed🍻

1. Apache. The food is a modern take on Vietnamese food with a touch of French divineness. You can get a burger and beer for $30 (nzd) and ,just keep in mind, they have won the best burger in 2016. Otherwise they have delicious popcorn chicken or dumplings for under $20🥟

2. Blend Bar. If you are interested in having a drink after, even though it is midday, then you can go almost next door into Blend. Sorry to say, but it is not for the decor, BUT the prices on their drinks and beers are almost too good to not spend a bit. You can get a glass of wine for $5 or jug of beer for more or less than $12! Aaaand if you get there on before 5 pm they sometimes do happy hour🍺

3. Crumpet. This is a very small cafe with a bit of a European vibe to it. They might not be as cheap as Blend bar, but they do have the most cozy space for a drink. Would definitely recommend going in there for a cocktail or two🍸

4. Sal's Authentic NY Pizza. Now hear me out. There is lots of other nice places to get pizza in Wellington as well like Pizza Pomodoro or Scopa, but Sal's just got a nice tasty pizza slice. And they offer lunch deals! You do not have to stay and eat in but go find a bench or something and enjoy your slice while looking at people doing their own thing. Also this is a go to when you have been out drinking a bit and need a slice before going to bed and who does not?🍕

5. Uncle Leo's Bakery. If you need an authentic croissant or just a sweet treat, then I would definitely recommend you to visit this bakery. It is probably the most delicious cakes you will get in Wellington I mean who does not love a bit of French pastry?🥐

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Danish, spontaneous, adventurous and down to earth. Hi ya! I have been traveling as much as I could since 2020 - Yep I started traveling the most during COVID. But you know what? It actually wasn't that bad. I got to live in England and France during COVID so even though it wasn't the best time to travel I decided to make lemonade ;) Since then I have done a few backpacking travels and I am currently in New Zealand. I love exploring new countries and learn about their culture. Besides that I am a sucker for sunsets and adrenalin filled experiences! I mostly travel like a fancy budgetter🥴 I don't have a lot of money to spend on fancy hotels, dinner outs or massages alle the time, BUT I think it is important to treat yourself and buy that fancy hotel if that's what you need and can afford. I have been using the most disgusting toilets, slept with cockroaches in a floating house, endured the worst thunder and lightning in a night bus and having the worst hangovers before going on a hike. All of this is surrealistic to look back on, but in that moment it just was like that. You can't really prepare to go take a shit in a hole almost standing up. It just happens if you really have to. - Sorry for the nasty images in your head. I'm just trying to say that traveling is to me so much more than just going to a beach with the clearest blue water or watching the sunset with a cocktail in your hand. I have personally evolved and exceeded limits I never thought I would have to all thanks to being able to travel to other countries. Even though I might've scared you a bit, I promise, it's all worth it. I'm here to help you through the good and the not as good parts of traveling to other countries, but first, I need to ensure that you're prepared, confident, courageous, enthusiastic, and ready to go get the world.
