Cape Winelands Wine Pairing

Anneke Marais
This is a great tour in the most beautiful winelands areas and great wine farms. Interesting wine pairings with nougat, chocolate or cheese and olive oils

FAIRVIEW ESTATE

We go to Fairview – the Goat Farm at Agter Paarl. Here you enjoy a Farmer’s Tasting which consists of 6 wines, 4 cheeses and 2 cured meats. Browse at the deli for excellent quality of different cheeses, olive oils and fresh breads.  All of this while the goats roam and climb the tower to impress you.

After this we leave for the Anthonij Rupert Tasting room in the old newly refurbished Manor House on the historic farm.   It is an old Cape Dutch house and here we will enjoy a L'Ormarins Cup Classique and Nougat Pairing.

By this time the stomach is looking for some great food and then we proceed to the steel, glass and iron restaurant 400 metres above sea level with great views over Stellenbosch area - Tokara.   Here you enjoy a great contemporary cuisine lunch.

After a great delightful lunch with some more perfect wines, we start going back to Cape Town, but lastly - not the least - we stop at Waterford Wine Farm in Stellenbosch for a late afternoon wine and chocolate pairing with great coffee.

You will end the day feeling full and learn a whole lot of different tastings and your stomach and taste buds will thank you for that.   Enjoy a sundowner at the hotel with beautiful ocean views.
